Based in Lilongwe Founded in 2024 Mission: providing nutritious meals to those in need We run regular community meals, and rely on our own resources and few volunteers to cook and distribute food The name — “Feed the Street” — reflects the idea of feeding people living on the street (the homeless or those in need) through communal, “hands-on” acts of kindness. It’s not just about giving food, but about connection, unity, and dignity. What we provide: hot meals, clothing, and hygiene products to people experiencing food insecurity and poverty.
Literal & Symbolic Meaning:The name is both literal (feed people on the street) and symbolic (feed the community, feed hope). It signals direct action — cooking and serving meals — rather than just donating food parcels. Community & Connection:We emphasize community, unity, and shared responsibility. “Feeding the street” is not just giving food; it's about bringing people together to serve and be served. Dignity: By preparing meals and distributing them respectfully, these we aim to restore dignity to people living on the streets or in extreme poverty. The act of sharing a hot meal, often face-to-face, is powerful. Visibility:The “street” in the name also highlights visibility. Street outreach ensures services reach people who are often overlooked by traditional welfare structures.
1.Alleviating immediate hunger: Through regular meals (for example, monthly community meals)
2.Building community:Encouraging volunteers to cook, serve, and connect with those they serve, building empathy and a sense of shared humanity.
3.Empowering vulnerable populations:Beyond food,we also aim to support education, healthcare, and long-term wellbeing.
4. Raising awareness:By operating on the street, we increase public awareness about homelessness, poverty, and food insecurity.
5.Sustainable impact:While meals help immediately, we also want to create sustainable change — for example, by creating community kitchens, partnerships, or developing infrastructure (water projects, fruit tree planting projects, etc.).
